EDDIED_UP “THE NEXT LEVEL”

“NO MAN HAS EVER RISEN TO REAL STATURE OF SPIRITUAL MANHOOD UNTIL HE HAS FOUND THAT IT IS FINER TO SERVE SOMEBODY ELSE THAN IT IS TO SERVE HIMSELF”
-WOODROW WILSON

Eddie is one to watch out for in this industry he is living proof of everything that is right about this business, Eddie’s passion for barbering has transcended through his haircuts. He feels everyone he comes in contact with is a walking advertisement and an example of his passion for barbering. Let us take a minute to enjoy Lancaster Pa’s The Blackcomb barber Eddied_Up.
Barbering allows me the freedom to just be me and express myself in this artistic fashion. Barbering has also made me appreciate those I am blessed to serve on an everyday basis, watching them walk out of the barbershop makes me proud to know that I had satisfied the needs of another client. Making each person feel special and giving them the best possible experience it is a gift I am thankful of receiving.

My name is Eddied_Up it has been my name for years now it was one of those names that just came out of nowhere, I remember one day having a conversation with a friend of mine before he came to see me for a haircut, before hanging up the phone I heard him exclaim “I’M ABOUT TO GET EDDIED_UP!” and the birth of not only an Instagram name was born but a whole new persona and dedication to barbering.

In this business I always felt like the “little man with a big heart” like someone I’d idolized most of my life he was the epitome of strength, and perseverance and goes by the name of Allen Iverson. He was always sought and perceived as the “underdog” nobody really thought he would ever accomplish the things he had done in his career, I guess you can say through Allen Iverson I saw a lot of myself. Allen Iverson wasn’t the tallest or the biggest on the court but he performed and played with everything he had, it has been truly inspiring and I thank Allen Iverson for that.

“THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING IS OFTEN… NOT QUITTING”
-WALT DISNEY

Coming from a single family home my mother played both roles. It takes a strong person to raise four boys on their own. Never quitting is one of those characteristics that she instilled me. Being the second oldest brother was important for me to be that positive male model for my younger siblings. Practically raising my younger siblings with the help of my oldest brother has benefited me when I had my first child at the age of 20. Just knowing how to be there is what I knew best. I guess you can say I was in training most of my life. I had to grow up fast because another life depended on me so giving up was never an option for my family. So during the rough patches and troubling times I never gave in even though it was an easy road to take. All I could do is learn from it, build from it and continue to grow from it as well. It has truly made me who I am today.

“I REALLY ENJOY SERVING PEOPLE BY THIS I MEAN THE HAIRCUT CAN ONLY GO SO FAR… IT IS ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE AND THE RELATIONSHIP WE BUILD WITH OUR CLIENTS THAT WILL TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL.”

If I could go back in time and tell my 18 year old self about who I am and what I’ll be doing in life, I would say that you are better, stronger, and much more confident in life than you think you are. Your problem is that you need to stop worrying about what others think of you and worry about yourself. I would also tell my 18 year old self to look myself in the mirror and say something positive about yourself because often we live life wanting approval, or some sort of satisfaction from others when really there’s nothing better than to tell yourself that.
