A Life Of Service

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”

-Mahatma Gandhi

A life that is meant for service is a life filled with riches, from the service in the Military, the service in barbering, and through the service of one’s family. Thomas Lipovsky lived life to serve others, without question nor hesitation, Thomas was a man of determination for success for himself and those around him. Thomas Lipovsky was not only a licensed barber for 40 plus years Thomas, was a servant in the United States Air Force where Thomas did a tour during the Korean War coming home as a proud veteran and a proud patriot.

Success ran through the veins of Thomas in the world of barbering serving his community in Reading, Pennsylvania for many years, where the memories of many men who were blessed to have received a haircut from Thomas are left with a lasting memory of the times and many experiences with Thomas.

“People may leave us in this world, but they leave us with the memories”

Thomas Lipovsky was many things to so many people who loved him so, from his children to his grandchildren, who have seen Thomas through his ups and downs from his victory with throat cancer to the loss of loved ones, Thomas never let anything that stood in his way defeat him. Thomas an author of a novel titled “THE SLOVAKIAN” with many copies sold Thomas enjoyed the opportunities others took in reading about Thomas’s life.

A fond memory of Thomas was a story while working in the barbershop within the Jamaican airport, where Thomas saw a crowd walking through the airport seeing Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and then hearing a voice saying “hey barber? Shave me up…” in that voice and in the instant stood Sammy Davis JR, where Thomas shaved Sammy and got some advice from one of the greatest entertainers the world has known. Sammy Davis JR expressed that in the barbering industry you will remember all the names of everyone you come in contact with and to all of them throughout their lives you will forever be known as the barber.

Thomas Lipovsky was a man filled with heart and soul, spoke three languages, seeing all parts of the world while leaving a piece of himself in it. Thomas Lipovsky was rich in life with love from his children, his grandchildren with them all will carry the laughter and memories Thomas was blessed to give them all.

REST IN PEACE BARBER.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR LIFE OF SERVICE.
