My name is Giovanni Negron-Garcia or gio to many. I am 18 years old and live in Reading,Pa. I am currently a student at Reading High School and plan to attend Kutztown University and major in communication studies on a Board of Governors Scholarship. i am the 2017 Reading High Senior Class President and the host of my very own podcast “The GIO-EFFECT”. it is a podcast where I have the opportunity to sit down with my peers and allow them to showcase their talents all while delivering a message to those who listen. Motivational speaking has always been my passion and feel , it’s been my calling in life that is allowed me to create an acronym with my name Gio, with my motto being “Go Inspire Others”.
I have spoken to more than a few thousand students in my speaking career to help to achieve my goal to speak upon bullying and help spread a message of the ugly side, which caused a long time friend of mine to take his own life due to bullying, so helping others see that side would help them to stop at a early age. Growing up wasn’t easy with a struggling family being bullied everyday to the point where coming home crying was just normal to me but using all this as a motivation to achieve my goals, I knew what my potential was and it was filled with nothing but greatness. Looking past all my insecurities, making the most out my life I knew I was the only one that could make it happen. I competed in many debate competitions where it landed me across the world in Germany. Coming back home to intern for the former mayor of Reading,PA, Tom McMahon. I received numerous awards for student excellence all the while inspiring others along the way which of all is my greatest accomplishment. To put me in the simplest of terms, I’m just a man who loves life, always stays optimistic and makes the best out of every situation. Everyday I tell myself it’s a brand new day and attack each day with two things in mind… complete the day and inspire others.
