Theresa Violette: My Dream Come True

There are artists that have stood the test of time. Some of their work has been hanging in the greatest museums around the world for us to enjoy. Then there is Theresa Violette, The Line Up Barber Magazine’s own artist, who has blessed many with facial transformations through the art of makeup. She is an artist of great talent and with her artistic vision and the many ideas she brings to the table, we are so pleased to have her on board. We at The Line Up Barber Magazine truly appreciate all you have done and with that we pay homage to our great friend. Here is the lovely and ever so talented Theresa.

“I have always been into art since I was a little girl, drawing and creating pictures on any surface including the walls or even dirt piles (Sorry, Mom). Being a “tomboy,” I really just wasn’t into makeup. I didn’t know too much about it. At the age of 18, I got a part time job at Tina’s Salon and Spa (Reading, PA) where I observed the many that visited the salon leaving feeling amazing.  It intrigued me and captured my imagination on how I could make them feel. Being a makeup artist gives me the ability to help empower others, not only with that good feeling but to look good as well. I started to experiment on myself and never stopped learning. I loved and enjoyed doing beauty makeup but my passion and love has included taking it a step further on the body. It’s another level of my artistic expression.

I often wondered what my life could have been like but I’ve spent nineteen years as a makeup artist and I truly never see myself doing anything else. Being a makeup artist has just always been my calling.  I was born to do this and it has truly been that constant focus.

Seeing my work in photos and in the magazine has been a proud feeling.  I have worked very hard to perfect my craft. I put 100% into everything I do and to see something I created whether it be makeup or body painting, published for so many to admire has been a fulfilling feeling and truly something that again, I am very proud of.

I always want to continue to grow as an artist. In this point in my career, I have done a little bit of everything. It’s been a challenge chasing my dreams while being a mother to two amazing boys and a wife to an amazing husband. It has been a juggling act but I’m always up for the challenge. Now that my children are getting older, my goals and dreams get bigger. One day, I’m hoping to be a part of major fashion shoots and events around the world and to have my worked featured

in Vogue Magazine… (Just saying). A girl can dream and I am living proof that they do come true.
